About Stephanie
Certified Counsellor
I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, with 8 years in mental health and 4 years as a therapist. My experience spans corrections, community mental health, Child and Family Services, Northern communities, non-profits, and private practice. I specialize in trauma and addiction counselling, anxiety and depression management, youth and couples counselling, and helping clients build healthy coping skills, reduce stress, and improve communication.
I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and advanced training in EMDR for trauma, as well as DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Inner Child Work, Nutritional Psychology, and Humanistic approaches. I also have expertise in Attachment Theory and managing ADHD, ODD, and conduct disorders, along with crisis management and suicide risk assessment. I also am currently training to be a trauma specialist and becoming certified in Animal Assisted Therapy.
As a certified personal trainer, I incorporate fitness and nutritional wellness into my practice. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, playing with my puppy Jax, and pursuing my goal of officiating a CFL game. I’m grateful for my supportive partner and love traveling to explore new cultures.
Meet JAX!
Certified Good Boy
I’m thrilled to report I’ve been diligently preparing my dog Jax to join the ranks of therapy animals. Research shows that animals have a soothing effect which can be harnessed to promote better outcomes in therapy sessions, and also alleviate anxiety and bolster comfort. He is very lovable and enjoys all my clients that come in for their in-person appointments.
